Outdoor Metal Spiral Staircase – Compact Design and a Matte RAL 6013 Finish

An outdoor staircase influences both the layout of a space and the overall appearance of its design. In this project, the metal spiral staircase connects the courtyard to the upper terrace through a compact structure with curved lines and a matte RAL 6013 paint finish, complementing the home’s natural tones.

Its shape adds a sculptural accent to a setting dominated by straight lines. The steps arranged around the central column and the railing following their upward curve create a slender silhouette, visible from several angles within the courtyard.

The spiral configuration makes efficient use of vertical space. By arranging the steps around a central axis, access to the upper level is contained within a small footprint. Positioning the staircase near the edge of the terrace leaves much of the courtyard available for circulation and a relaxation area.

At the top, a metal landing provides access to the terrace. Its geometry extends the staircase structure and adapts the transition to the building’s layout, integrating the assembly into the existing architecture.

The metal details define the rhythm of the structure. The steps widen towards their outer edges, following the staircase’s circular path. The open spaces between them allow light to pass through and maintain an airy appearance, well suited to a courtyard where every element contributes to the overall design.

The railing consists of slender vertical bars connected by a round handrail. The handrail follows the curve of the staircase, while the repeated vertical elements emphasize the structure’s height. The same design continues around the landing, creating visual continuity between the stairs and the terrace entrance.

The matte RAL 6013 finish complements the natural palette of the space. The subtle green shade pairs well with the light-colored walls, wood-look finishes and warm flooring tones. The matte finish gives the metal surfaces an understated presence, suited to this outdoor setting.

The same color is used on the central column, steps, railing and landing, giving the entire structure a unified appearance. In the design rendering, the surrounding greenery highlights the relationship between the metal structure and the natural elements around it.

Through its proportions, color and placement, the metal spiral staircase becomes a distinctive feature of this Mosch Home project, connecting the two levels and contributing to the home’s visual identity.
